    Timezone: GMT

    Website: www.semperdius.com

    Semper Dius

Formed in 2007 and with five years experience as a Guild, we have continued to grow, having become one of the most prominent European guilds within Warhammer Online, Aion and RIFT. Having re-aligned our interests in recent weeks, we are now eagerly awaiting Guild Wars 2.

Freedom of speech is very important to Semper Dius. You can find that belief in our behavior as well as the daily management of the guild and community; opinions have always been sought from all members, from day one. We value each individual as highly as the next. Through this approach Semper Dius has flourished having just reached our fifth birthday, an achievement by the whole Semper Dius group.

You as a member are important to us and we want to make sure that you experience that feeling here every day.

With a primary focus on player versus player combat (though we will inevitably exhaust Guild Wars 2’s PvE content) the two most important elements to us are teamwork and having fun. Having been a close knit community for so long we are seeking like minded people with a good understanding of the genre, who have already built up knowledge of the game and classes.

If you are a mature gamer who enjoys both PvE and PvP, grouping and have a relaxed mentality, you'll fit right in here.

You can find our guild rules and more information about Semper Dius on our website.

    Requirements

    - 18+ but exceptions can be made for younger mature people
    - Being able to play on an evening GMT time schedule
    - Capable of speaking, understanding and writing in English
    - Willing to be on and communicate over Vent/TS while gaming
    - You should be able to commit yourself to join Guild Events
    - Checking our Guild Forum daily is preferred
    - Respect your fellow Guild members and behave maturely ingame

    Join Us!

All it requires is heading to our forums recruitment section (click) and filling in the application template. Please take your time to do this, as a first impression is very important! We will then review your application, discuss it internally and inform you within 48 hours if you are accepted.

Can't help but be curious when an EU guild lists Aion on its rap sheet of attended MMOs; and for some reason yours seems familiar. What server were you on? If I know you it may benefit me in attaining a better judgement of which guild may eventually suit me if I was able to observe its movements in a game I played on a more long-term basis. Of course it takes two to tango and the concerning guild may not want me among their ranks for their own reasons. Then there's the possibility I may eventually start a guild myself but that's more about me, less about this topic.

I see you were on Rift's Whitefall server; hehehe, all of my former hotshot enemies were to be found on that server - and the pertaining Quake.net IRC server. Too bad I never played the game past beta. ;p

If it's the same Semper Dius that I remember from Aion, it should be the one from Perento I think. Our guild was from Spatalos, but we did play for Rift on Whitefall as well. I remember seeing a couple of members of Semper Dius on there. It's been a while though, we quit the game around june/july to casualy await GW2.

Either way, best of luck in GW2, looking forward in meeting your guild ingame :)

Laida nailed it, we are the same Semper Dius that played on Perento in Aion. As long as it lasted, I think only 2 or 3 of our members actually reached lvl 50 before we quit Aion, we were in the top 10 as Guild on Perento.

As far as RIFT goes, I was one of the Guild Leaders that signed up for Whitefall early on when the project was started to go there with all PvP Guilds. We, however, only played on Whitefall for like 2-3 days during head-start. Many of our members couldn't get through the queues so I decided in best interest of the Guild and it's members to move servers. We had some, including myself, above lvl 30 so it was a pain. Except for 1 or 2 individuals everyone moved. That showed that we are a strong, tight knit, group.

We ended up starting on Firesand, that server came forward as winner in a poll. We aren't an RP Guild but people were attracted to it because RP servers are usually very mature.Any more questions or things you want to know? I'm happy to answer them.

Ah-hah. I was on Perento too, fancy that. I think I had to stop to make sure I wasn't confusing you with the likes of Atra Astrum at the same time. I went from Mist to Vex To Eva Vix personally, but I am reluctant to spare more details than that for all the bad blood that was hovering around on that server during its mid-life pre-merge. I'm actually still playing that game after a 1yr break hehe.

Atm I'm just window shopping because joining guilds pre-launch is something of a newfangled ordeal for me. =S

Eva Vix rings a bell, that we were Elyos and you Asmodian probably is a good reason why :)

How is the game now? I remember quitting for 2 reason. One being the crashes in big PvP battles in the keeps, the other being the terrible grind to 50.

Joining Guilds pre-launch is good. You get to know your fellow members early on and it creates a good bond. I joined Semper Dius over a year before Warhammer released and look... I'm still here!

I remember Eva Vix very well, they were our mortal enemies during the WAR-beta, and the two guilds were an ever-present force for both factions.

Having been in Semper Dius for approaching 5 years now, I can safely say that you will not have the same guild-experience elsewhere; the structure, civility and camaraderie within the guild is second to none in my eyes, and I would urge anyone to pop by to the forums and say hello. We're a friendly and active bunch and we'll answer any queries you might have

Yeah I was an Asmo'. :p I quit the game the first time around once I found out what 2.0 intended to bring... i.e. magical crit' lol - my guildies at the time thought that was a joke, but now plate wearers are forced to go m-res build to withstand being 2-shotted on two lucky crits.

Thanks to Lodas and Berdinan (or something, lol, usable by under 40s only) Amulet surpluses the grind is right up there with WoW in it being non-existent. Oh, and you want the story before or after the doomsday proclamation? - by that I meant the F2P move announcement.

I transferred from Perento to Telemachus for a change and where I could potentially get some room to breathe in the event I ran into some unwelcome old flames; plus I wanted to see if the Asmo' scene could be any more promising than it was on Perento. Erm, not only is it 'run' by 1337-gr33ks that show a remarkable disdain for anybody outside of their borderlands, the server pretty much died for 2 consecutive weeks on end after the F2P bomb was dropped. Zergs are also even more prominent than they were before - everybody seems to think they're vulnerable in their small volumes and so number games become more frequent in that knowledge - and not in Asmo side's favour.

Crashes are still as frequent as before, and whereas I could participate in sieges somewhat faithfully before, I can no longer do so now as funny as that sounds - tweak in the optimization process in the slight graphical re-haul maybe I guess.

About the only active open PvP in Telemachus is a constant gate joust of Vortagem Citadel in Gelk' - since the Asmos apparently can't push into Elyos turf... oh and you don't wanna know what the Dredgion has amounted to... people are actually AFK'ing matches from the off now; and it seems to be more common than people wanting to actively participate in them.

Attaining a winning streak now seems even more dependant on gear thanks to the more readily accessible eternal grade stuff... hmm, what else? That's about it really. I'm personally spending my time infiltrating Inggison for my PvP jollies and waiting on what 3.0 may bring in the event none of the other MMOs I'm currently watching enter open beta phases before then. Oh, I guess there's... Arena of Chaos and Discipline *shnerk* ...both places which blatantly advertises one's lack of gear if you don't try to be smart in your points acquisition and go PvE the mobs in them - PvE, in what is supposed to be a hardcore PvP arena... *sigh*

Yeah I can see the benefits of joining a guild in that respect even though I've always felt it best for me to judge from afar while in-game... that exploit has only got me moonlighting across half a dozen guilds before really settling in other MMOs though lol. I suppose it's why I consider it as a valid option now; I guess I'll take you up on your offer of snooping around once GW2 is any closer to an OB unveiling date. =D

Hehe you're description sounds like loads of fun... not!

I'm pretty sure that I'll never ever touch Aion again. Same goes for RIFT really. Both failed to deliver in my opinion, definitely on the PvP aspect.
